As indicated, the message in the Messages module is part of the Win-back campaign. The automated campaign itself can be found in the Campaigns module.
Every automated campaign in Spotler always consists of two parts:
- Campaign trigger(s)
A starting trigger is what prompts a campaign. It tells Spotler that something needs to happen. What causes an automated campaign to start?
- Campaign step(s)
Because of the trigger, Spotler knows that it has to do something. Next comes a campaign step, which could be a message and/or an SMS being sent, or information getting edited.
The trigger for the Win-back campaign is the last date of purchase. The email will be sent as part of the campaign step. Click Edit in the drop-down menu behind the Win-back campaign in Spotler. A step-by-step plan will open. In the first step, you can make changes to the properties of the campaign. When you're ready, click on Save & Next. You will see an Edit button. This opens a new screen with a campaign flow, in which you can organize the campaign.
Trigger: setting up the time frame
The trigger of the Win-back campaign is set to Last date of purchase with a half-year delay. Adjust the number of days to match the average buying frequency of your web shop. Suppose you offer holidays, and your customers book a trip twice a year on average. A half-year delay on the trigger may be a little tight: the customer will not have had the chance to make a new purchase yet.
Filter: newsletter recipients
You might notice that a target filter has been set up for both the trigger and the campaign step. The legislation regarding email marketing has made this necessary. The Win-back campaign has a commercial purpose, therefore you can only reach contacts who have indicated that they want to receive commercial email communications.
Adding campaign steps (optional)
Did you make multiple variations of the win-back email, or would you like to send a follow-up email? Then add the additional messages that you previously set up in the Messages module with the Add step button. By using target group filters in the campaign step, you can ensure that the right message is sent to the right target group.
Click on the Save button to complete the campaign and then click on Close editor. You can return to the Campaign overview by clicking on Overview at the top.
Activating the campaign
To activate a campaign, you have to change the status of the campaign to Active. Click on Status in the drop-down menu behind the campaign of which you want to change the status. A pop-up will appear, in which you can change the status by clicking on Active.
